Golf GTI Edition 40 - Golf's 40th Anniversary hot hatch
Back in 2016, Volkswagen conceived this stunning Clubsport Edition 40 to celebrate 40 years of the humble Golf. The edition 40 received a power boost and a significant revision to the chassis which took the best of the performance pack options to make them standard.
The Clubsport Edition 40 uses a tweaked version of the widely seen 2-litre, turbocharged EA888 unit that is seen in the regular GTI and R models which VW now quotes a power output of 260~BHP at 5350rpm-6600rpm which gives it a nice little 34bhp gain against the GTI performance pack. But of course, as you'll see below, this one has been even further improved on the power output with an APR Stage 2+ map taking her all the way up to 420BHP. With that power, you're going to want to stop as quickly as you go, which is why we've also upgraded to the Raceline Big Brake Kit with an R400 intake and Wagner intercooler.
Inside, you'll find the much desired and almost essential Clubsport Wingback Seats which are accompanied by lashings of Alcantara on the gear level and steering wheel giving that much more premium feeling and driving experience. As a daily driver, these golf's hold everything you need to get you to work, and home even quicker on the way back when utilizing over 400HP, heated seats will keep you toasty and warm in the colder months, pano roof and the speed to keep you cool in the summer. Some tasty tech lies inside too including Dynaudio, pro navigation, park assist, dynamic chassis control, and more.
